Starting Warband: Carnival of Chaos

Worse than any mortal enemy is the awful Carnival of Chaos!  Step right up!  Step right up!  Tickets only two groats!  The Carnival of Chaos is a terrifying warband, with outrageously powerful hand-to-hand ability and cheap, powerful henchmen.

John led the Carnival of Chaos in our Serene Annihilation Campaign.  He comissioned me to make the models themselves and they are some of my absolute favorites!

Mordheim Campaign: Serene Annihilation

For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror which we are barely able to endure and are awed because it serenely disdains to annihilate us.
Each single angel is terrifying.

-Duino Elegies: The First Elegy, by Rainer Maria Rilke
Translated by Albert Ernest Flemming

Greetings!  After many long years of absence, I have returned in force to the dark, abyssal labyrinth that is Mordheim - City of the Damned.  I am Games Master for my group's new Serene Annihilation Campaign.  This is a Mordheim campaign like nothing before.  It has a few changes to the basic rules, a whole warped background and an utter disdain for competition.  Serene Annihilation is about the story, and about the madness which results from broadening Mordheim's themes into other realms.  Join me as I explore the background to this miserable tale of woe, suffering and hideous dreams.  Join me in the radiant halls of the Palace of Dreams where men come face-to-face with their true selves - and realize what a nightmare such a thing is.

The city beckons.  Damnation awaits.

The Pig-God

In our Mordheim Campaign, we needed a few terrible villains to act as "meat walls" and prevent the players from advancing too far too early.  This model was inspired by the awesome chimeric on Ex Profundis.  I followed the advice of Bruticus, however, and did not use the minotaur model as a base.

This model also pulls double-duty as a Kastellan Robot in Warhammer 40,000 - hence the Imperial symbols.  I figure that whoever created him employs him for the Imperium, but the gene-manipulation used to create him is borderline heretical - hence the excessive purity seals.

Plenty more images after the jump.

Gue'Vesa Army for Warhammer 40,000

This was a project I had originally intended as an "opposing force" for my Imperial forces.  I felt the high-tech,sleek look of the Tau would be a good compliment to the more rugged, gothic look of the Imprial forces.  I truly enjoyed this project, but have decided to take my hobby work in another direction so have decided to put it up for sale on Ebay.

After the jump are plenty more pictures!

Carnival of Chaos

The Carnival of Chaos has always been one of the most intense and characterful of all the various factions of Mordheim.  I have always wanted to make one, but never really had the excuse.  This one was built and painted on behalf of a client.  It was a sheer joy to create.  The Carnival offers so many awesome conversion and painting opportunities.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Fox & Goat! This is a painting/modeling/gaming blog for Warhammer 40,000; Age of Sigmar; and, most important of all, Mordheim.
